… “This is Habit Forming!”
Straight from my favorite free-range forager’s lips (yes, he can eat anything), these words made my heart flutter, to hear that this juice recipe can be “habit forming”. I especially love hearing when someone who does not have specific food requirements enjoys one of my concoctions because, quite frankly, sometimes I think my juice creations are a bit weird. I know I only share the ones that make the cut in my mind, but I still always present them to my taste-testers to make sure I haven’t accidentally and unknowingly “gone over the deep end”. This one is a keeper!
He had a taste then went about quietly minding his own business while I tended to the documenting and clean-up details. Just a few minutes later, he appeared in the kitchen saying, “Hey, you got any more of that juice? I keep thinking about it.”
Success!
Pineapple Turmeric Juice has a mild pineapple flavor with subtle carrot “lingerings”. There is also a warming quality with a distinct juxtaposition of refreshing and bright. You will notice that the ingredients list includes some black pepper. This is included because black pepper “activates” (or shall we say turns on) the turmeric and brings out the best of its health benefits. The pepper doesn’t add any noticeable peppy flavor. And, at the immense risk of grossing you out completely, I share with you a photo of what real, raw turmeric looks like – BUT only look with ONE eye – two could be detrimental to your psyche.
I used my NutriBullet to blend the ingredients because I wanted to keep all the pulp (which blends up very well in a high-speed blender) to benefit from the fiber and keep the glycemic “punch” in check. Sometimes I create this as a pure, no pulp juice using my Hurom Juicer, and it’s delicious and powerful in that form as well. My suggestion? Keep these ingredients on hand. I think you’re going to be blending, or juicing, this recipe up often.
Here are just a few of the multiple nutritional benefits studies have shown these fruits and veggies to possess:
- Anti-inflammatory
- Natural pain reliever
- Arthritis management
- Fight free radical damage (which can lead to various forms of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease.)
- Boost our immune system
- Provide antioxidants
- Nausea relief
As with all of my recipes, I like to mention the top allergens, or lack thereof … this recipe is vegan, raw, and free of gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and eggs, as well as oats or corn (for those who steer clear of these as well).
Hey, here’s a thought … If you make this into a juice (minus the pulp), wouldn’t this be a kicker of a brunch cocktail when combined with a splash of vodka? Oh yeah!
Happy Juicing!

- 1-inch piece of fresh, peeled ginger
Directions
- Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender such as a NutriBullet or Vitamix. Drink and enjoy.
