…Gluten Free Takes the Cake!

Food Network Logo, courtesy of Food NetworkCupcake Wars, airing Sunday nights on the Food Network channel, had this week’s competitors baking their hearts out to the theme of The Closer’s 100th episode. This was a notable episode of Cupcake Wars for another reason though. Competitor Kyra Bussanich, creator and operator of Crave Gluten Free Bake Shop, showed the judges and thousands of viewers far and wide that gluten free baking can be delicious. So delicious in fact that her perfected talents at creating delicious gluten-free cupcakes beat out the traditional all-purpose, wheat-flour based cupcakes. “This is a win for the entire gluten-free community,” Kyra commented of her win. At the end of the episode, the cast of The Closer seemed to wholeheartedly agree. While the cast was enjoying the cupcakes, one of them even suggested, “Maybe we should all go gluten-free.” Seems this is “proof in the pudding”…or at least in the cupcakes…gluten-free can be delicious, for those with dietary requirements and those who just know a good thing when they taste it.

  3. If you happen to live in or near St. Paul, Minnesota there is a great place to get cupcakes at a shop called “CupCake”. It is on University Av. They have gluten-free cupcakes which are beautiful as well as delicious. They also have a website so you can check out what they make.
If you go there, watch for the big blue teacup sticking out of the side of the building or you might miss it!
