… What Will Your Decision Be?
As many of you are aware, there has been great controversy over Domino's Pizza launching their new gluten-free pizza here in the U.S. This has been a bed of heated discussion, to say the least. Nat’l Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) was a direct target in this line of fire for supporting Dominos’ efforts to meet the needs of the gluten-free community (NFCA Articles). Some are claiming this new pizza cannot possibly be safe. Others are stating that this is a new dining opportunity, as long as one proceeds with caution. Still others remain on the fence awaiting answers to their questions.
Today, a press release was published by CeliAct, the makers of nutritional supplements for people with celiac disease. Due to this great debate, CeliAct decided to do their own testing to determine the level of gluten and risk of cross-contamination. “Using their state of the art lab with strict gluten thresholds, they tested pizzas from three major cities. Two of the pizzas had no detectable gluten, while a third had trace levels considered safe by almost all standards,” according to CeliAct. To read the entire press release, click here.

Thanks for the test. Good to hear that they are working hard to keep it gluten free. I would like to give it a try! How did it taste?
I’d love to try it too, but I’m personally not ready to do so just yet. I’m still on the fence about this and need more proof. Being “glutened” is too serious in my book:-D Thanks for your comments!
