Quick-Start Guide to Stocking Your Gluten-free Dairy-free Pantry

Gluten-free Dairy-free Pantry Guide Products

Now that you’re gluten free, it is important to set up your pantry and refrigerator with staple items that meet your new gluten free diet. Many of your old reliables may now be on the “forbidden” list, but others may still be safe. It can be confusing when first getting started … which are the safe products? This list should help. Included are many familiar products available at your local grocery store, as well as some specialty items that can be great additions.

We’ve also included some dairy-free (casein free) items, since many gluten-free people are dairy-free as well. New items will be added to this page on an on-going basis. This is far from an all-inclusive list. Be sure to check back regularly. Here are some items we keep on hand. The list is accurate according to the most current information available from each manufacturer. Understand that manufacturers can, and do, make modifications to their products from time to time.

We realize that some of the following products may not be available in your region, depending on what product lines are carried by certain resellers. If you have interest in a particular product, please contact the manufacturer’s website for product availability in your area.

The gluten-free product market is growing at a rapid rate. If you are a manufacturer, or a consumer, and you would like to see a product added to this list, please contact us at info@DailyForage.com.

  1. Serious error on your list under Gluten Free Dairy Free (Casein) free Cheeses…..

Boars Head Cheese is NOT Dairy/Casein Free!!!!!

Please reply and correct this mistake that could make many seriously ill……

    Thank you.

    • You are ABSOLUTELY correct in the fact that Boars Head Cheese is NOT Dairy/Casein Free!! I included this cheese here in the list to show it was gluten-free, but failed to call out that it is obviously not dairy-free. Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. I have made it much more clear now on the list. Please let me know if you find other concerns. I always appreciate your feedback. Safe eating!

  2. I am so thankful I found this post!!!! I have been looking for this exact type of list because I was advised by my sons Pediatrician to go GFCF and my head started spinning into a confused daze. I researched for days, and was constantly finding myself more confused after reading someones post or suggestions than before I had ever started. I will surely bookmark your site and refer to this many times I am sure. Thank you so much for posting this!!!

    • Hi Ashley! I’m so glad you found me too! I’m excited to hear that this information will be helpful for you. Be sure to subscribe to this website as well. That way you will receive updates each time I share new information, such as recipes that are always gluten-free, casein-free, and cookbook reviews, products that would fit perfectly into your pantry, etc. Thanks again for the kind words! My best to you and your son through this new journey! Please be sure to let me know if you have any questions. That’s what I’m here for!

  3. My 18 yr old grand daughter was recently diagnosed with celiac’s disease…I’m trying to develop a gluten free pantry. Thanks for your help

    • You are quite welcome, Karen. I’m glad this list is helpful for you. It can be so mind-boggling to learn what common products can still easily fit into a gluten-free lifestyle. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions … That’s what I’m here for! 😀

  4. I need to know about gf/df salad dressings. Also, I didn’t see any clear cut df/gf combos of items. lists were clear on gf but not gf/df on almost everything is there a list similar to this over with that info? Thank you

    • Thanks so much for the great question! I must admit that an update to the list, providing more gf/df options is needed and being attended to promptly. As for a more immediate answer to your question, you might check out these two sources: and I’ve not tried either of these, but I’ve heard through the gf/df grapevine that they are delicious. Be sure to let me know what you think!

  5. I need to find gf / df / sugar free items. Any suggestions?

    • Hi Kara. Thank you for your inquiry. As so many people are now moving away from sugar, these types of products would be a good inclusion to the existing list. I’d be happy to help you with suggestions, but first I have a few questions for clarity. Would you like to know items that are naturally sugar free with no artificial sweeteners added? Or are you requesting info on products that simply use a sugar/sweetener alternative(s)? If you’d like to respond in the comments section here, it will allow other followers to learn more as well. If you’d prefer to contact me directly for more information and additional questions, please feel free to do so at info@DailyForage.com. Thanks again for your question!

  6. I am very new to this…. found out today that I have celiac disease. I have looked at many sites and list of what I should avoid or can eat. Some of the items you have listed, such as the condiments, have ingredients I was told to stay away from because they have gluten containing ingredients. Please help!!

    • Thanks, Faith, for your inquiry. Without specifics on which items you are concerned about, it makes it difficult to pinpoint an answer on the post. I’ll email you directly for better clarification. These items have been checked and double checked for gluten at time of publishing. If you can be more specific and email me directly at Info@DailyForage.com, I’ll be happy to update anything we confirm needs editing. Thanks so much for reaching out. I know being newly diagnosed can cause all sorts of confusion and trepidation. I’m here to help! xConnie
