… My Hurom Slow Juicer is Back in Action!
Happy Fruit & Veggie Friday, Everyone! I’ve been out of the regular juicing mode for a bit now and I have to say that I’ve really missed it. I’m not sure exactly what caused the slow down of creating delicious and wholesome, no-sugar-added juice recipes. Perhaps it was when I went on vacation in June that I broke the habit and never really started it up again. But that changed today. And I’m so deliciously happy that it did!
Here is the all-natural juice recipe I’ve created with my Hurom Slow Juicer today (the lovely milk glass citrus juicer wasn’t harmed in the making of this juice). This juice contains abundant antioxidants from the plums, anti-inflammatory benefits from the blueberries and ginger, 100+% RDA for vitamin C from the juicy oranges (vitamin C greatly increases the body’s ability to absorb iron), and heart-healthy and immune boosting vitamin A in the bright orange carrots. Blueberry pulp and fiber remain in this juice, while much of the orange pulp is filtered out. This makes the juice have a lovely, thicker consistency than a more clear juice. Be sure to stir this juice well just before drinking to mix all that pulp thoroughly – naturally creating an almost smoothie-like texture.
Orange Plum Blueberry Juice
Prep time: 5 minutes
Juicing time: 5 minutes, or less
Makes: about two 8-ounce servings
Ingredients:
3 navel oranges, peeled
2 red plums with skin, pitted
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/2” disk of ginger, peeled
2 very small carrots
Directions:
Juice oranges, grapes and ginger, while alternating with a couple slices of carrot. Keep a couple pieces of carrot to run through the juicer last.
Drink and enjoy!
Note: If you have any juice leftover, be sure to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Since this is an all-natural juice with not preservatives, longer storage is not recommended.
