… Banana, Orange, Mango Perfection in a Glass!
This gluten-free, dairy-free smoothie is one of my favorites. The refreshing hints of lime and mint give it a more complex flavor profile, while the subtle lingering zing from the ginger plays a great contrast to the sweetness of the B.O.M. I really enjoy drinking this on a warm, sunny day while sitting on the patio. But during the cooler months, it makes a tropical base to an adult drink by adding a splash of Amaretto, Tequila, or Triple Sec.
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 banana
2 cups frozen mango
fresh squeezed juice of 1/2 lime
1/4 teaspoon fresh peeled, grated ginger
about 8 leaves fresh mint
splash of alcohol, if desired
Directions:
To a blender, add orange juice, banana, and mango. Blend until smooth. Add lime juice, ginger and mint leaves. Blend until leaves are very small pieces. If adding a splash, blend in at this point. Serve in a frosty glass for an extra refreshing impact.
