… Mine Are Saying, “Red Apple Lipstick!”
Do you love to get all glammed up, primping and perfecting your look? Maybe you just like to look “put together” when you go out of the house. Having a dependable eyeshadow, with a wide color palette, that will stay in place and won’t crease, fade, or flake into your eyes is part of these scenarios. These characteristics might not be difficult to find in popular or high-end brands of eyeshadow, but what if you’re gluten-free? Shouldn’t your make-up be gluten free as well? Yes, it should. (If you’re not sure why this is important, please take just an extra moment and visit here). Now you don’t have to compromise your health for quality eyeshadow.
Red Apple Lipstick now offers gluten-free eyeshadow, and I’m so excited to tell you about it!
Before I do though, have you read my previous posts about Red Apple Lipstick’s Rally Balm, gluten free lip pencils, and gluten free lipsticks? I’ve also shared a post on their R-Evolution retractable lip pencils. All of these lip products are fantastic!
Why do I mention this? Because Red Apple Lipstick eye shadow is the perfect complement to Red Apple Lipstick lipsticks. Now your make-up can look all put together and still be healthy for you, inside and out.
I’m not one to fuss over my makeup. I don’t wear make-up every day, but when I do it must be easy to apply, safe (by that I mean gluten free), last for hours without any retouching, and give me whatever look I’m wanting for that particular occasion. Tall order? Not any longer.
I think a girl should be able to “dress up” her eyes when she’s going out on the town in her little black dress. Make them sultry, flirty, seductive. I also want the ability to put on a “professional face” (no not street walker profession, get your mind out of the gutter) and maintain that business look until business is complete. Also, since I’m not one to fuss over my makeup – especially when I’m just sitting in front of my computer – when I do put on eyeshadow, one that will give me a fresh and casual look is required.
When I heard that Red Apple Lipstick (RAL) was coming out with eyeshadows, I knew I had to try them. Ever since I received my eyeshadows (yes, plural), I’ve been testing them on paper, my eyes, my arm, wet, dry, with and without using a foundation on my eye lids … all kinds of good analysis has been gathered. I’ve taken photos of many of these steps, but honestly, most of Red Apple Lipstick’s photos convey the same result with much better clarity than mine, so for some of my examples I will be linking to RAL pages. A picture is worth a thousand words, right.? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder … and I so want you to behold the beauty in these products. (Okay, I’m done with the cheesy sayings now.)
As a collective whole, I found each of my five colors to be creamy, smooth, maintain long-lasting wearability, and not flake into my eyes, even during application. Often a bit of eye shadow dust will disperse during application. This didn’t happen with my new Red Apple Lipstick eye shadows. With other eye shadows, perhaps because they contained gluten or tended to “dust”, I always experienced a slight itching or mild irritation when wearing them. This usually resulted in taking my make-up off as immediately as I could once my day was finished. Now I’m able to wear “eye dressing” for extended hours at a time and not experience this sensation any longer. Yay!
Another collective characteristic I find so intriguing, and financially friendly, is how the intensity of each color can be greatly manipulated by certain factors, such as whether the shadow is applied dry – giving a subtle color hue, or wet – amping up the intensity to create bold, rich vibrance. This means I can have two eye shadows in one, saving space, time, and money. Win-Win!
In this photo, I applied five swishes of shadow for each color. The top swatch is applied dry, the bottom wet, with the shadow name and number separating them. To learn how to properly apply these mineral shadows wet, click here.
Since I’m not the most photogenic person (and I didn’t have another female whom I could photograph), I thought it best to not photograph myself donning the various colors. So I have no photos to share:). The two application processes I tested, one using no foundation or base on my eyelids before applying the eye shadow, and one with a foundation, created very different looks. I loved them both. The “no foundation” result was a very soft, subtle, lightly shimmery effect, as expressed in the “dry” approach mentioned above. When applied over foundation, the color was more true, more shimmery, and falls about half way between the “no foundation” effect and the bold, rich vibrance when applied wet. This might even allow me to say that the shadow can be a three-in-one color opportunity … casual, nighttime and seductive, and professional or polished. A shadow that fits your activities and your mood … Cool, right? (Remember mood rings? It’s not like that:D)
With my eye shadow, I received a Z-Palette. This is a great eye shadow case with a clear, flip-top lid.
It is magnetic on the inside cover edges, keeping the lid closed and the eye shadow protected. The inside base is also magnetized, which is perfect for placing your individual eye shadow tubs in any order, or any color combinations, in one clean and easily accessible place.
The Z-Palette can hold up to nine eye shadows at a time, but because it is magnetized, you can place fewer tubs in it and they won’t shift around. I LOVE that! I highly recommend getting a Z-Palette, even if you only start your RAL eye shadow collection with just one or two colors. You can build as you go and know that your eye shadow will always be where you put it and protected from other makeup residue, dust, lint, or what other makeup gremlins may linger in your purse or makeup bag.
I cannot forget to mention these facts about Red Apple Lipstick Eyeshadow … They are:
- made of mineral
- gluten free
- paraben free
- vegan
- cruelty free
- made in the USA
So, now you know why it is important to wear Red Apple Lipstick eyeshadow … It’s gluten-free and safe for your health. It complements your luscious and moisturizing RAL lipstick. You can depend on its wearability, versatility, and cost-saving benefits. There are ample colors from which to choose. And it’s easy to travel with the Z-Palette, so you never have to be without your perfect eye shadow again! I know I won’t!
