… Could You Tell the Difference? Did You Guess Correctly?
Yesterday I asked if people could clearly determine which cookie was “real” and which one was gluten free. And, I have to admit, I was surprised by the results, albeit a small sampling. I’ll share them later in this post. But first, here is why I put this challenge to you.
I believe it is becoming more and more difficult to tell the gluten free cookie from the “real” cookie. In reality and as a metaphoric example. By this I mean I believe that the quality and caliber of all-things-gluten-free are growing by leaps and bounds right now.
So why would anyone needing to be living a gluten-free lifestyle be willing to compromise their health by cheating?
Don’t get me wrong, I know from first-hand experience that being gluten free (and dairy free) isn’t peachy all the time. It takes A LOT of work, dedication, perseverance, and patience in the beginning! But we live in a dynamic era. (Go with me here for a moment). There are numerous companies that now produce delicious gluten-free products. Better research, resulting in better diagnoses, is being put into practice. An abundant and thriving community of gluten-free resources and support systems grows each day. And we have the internet at our fingertips, making knowledge and recipe gathering easier than ever before. All of these factors lend themselves perfectly to help create a lifestyle where it can be difficult to tell the “real” stuff from “gluten-free”. Being gluten-free is becoming quite real and quite fulfilling.
As for the results, if you guessed the pink cookie as the gluten free cookie, you are correct. The results came back with four correct answers to 2 incorrect. Thanks to you who played along with me:-D (I honestly thought the majority of people would guess the pink cookie as the “real” one.)
If you live with celiac disease, gluten intolerance or sensitivity, or a wheat allergy, don’t compromise your health because being diligent is too difficult. A gluten-free lifestyle based on knowledge, abundant choices, delicious and very healthful food options, and resources and support can all be yours. And we’re here to help you along the way. If you have questions, feel free to email me at info@DailyForage.com. Safe food (and knowledge) is a journey … Thrive!
It is not easy to tell the difference.
No, not in the flavors or texture either. I want us to only have what represents itself as original – not a substitute. Thanks for your feedback!
