… Perfect Gluten-Free On-the-Go Snacks For Busy Days!

With the weather turning warmer and people on the go with outdoor activities, quick and easy grab-and-go snacks are handy to have on hand. Here is a list of tasty and nutritious treats perfect for refueling and rehydrating. They won’t melt in the heat, are resistant to chipping or turning into wasted crumbs, and can provide a healthy pick-me-up when energy and electrolytes are fading. Each item is tasty and satisfying alone, or do a mix and match for greater variety and sustainability.

To stave off the hunger pangs, try these snacks:

Pretzels – Glutino…come in twisted or sticks (see our product review)

Simply Fruit, Fruit Roll-Ups

Nuts or Peanuts – I like the nuts at Trader Joe’s – plain or lightly salted, be aware of any seasoned nuts as they may contain gluten

Pre-popped Popcorn – Angie’s Kettle Corn has a salty, sweet taste and not too many unpopped kernels

Raisins and dried fruit – buy preservative-free brands when possible

Cereal Mix – try GF Cinnamon Chex, and Puffin’s Multi-Grain or Honey Rice, or Van’s Cereals

Energy or Power Bars – Larabar offers many flavor choices

For quick rehydration and to rebalance your electrolytes, here are some good refueling options:

Coconut water – comes in many flavors, low in calories and naturally electrolyte rich

Gatorade – all flavors are free of gluten, lactose, msg and caffeine

These quick and easy take-along choices avoid melted messes, trails of crumbs, and energy-fade. Stay gluten-free, strong, and on-the-go throughout the warm and busy days of summer, or anytime for that matter.
