… Sassy & Sweet!
Happy Fruit & Veggie Friday, Everyone! This week’s juice recipe, using my trusty Hurom Slow Juicer, is sweet with a strong kick of ginger sass! I LOVE it! It’s bright, bold, and let’s you know you’re drinking something really good for you. Are you ready to take this step? Sharing the punch with the ginger is the tang of lime, then bringing in the cushion of relief is the sweetness of blood orange, Honeycrisp apple, and tropical pineapple. The carrots just play nicely with everyone else and remain silent (but oh so healthful) partners. Quite a juxtaposition of flavors!
Juxtaposition Ginger Juice
Makes: about 16 ounces
2 Honeycrisp apples, no core or seeds
2 blood oranges
2 large carrots
1 lime, peeled
2 cups fresh pineapple, rind and core removed
1/2” disc of fresh ginger, peeled
Process fresh fruit and veggies, alternating types and finishing with some carrot. OR process according to your juicer’s instructions.
Enjoy immediately! Juice can also be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours (the benefits of fresh juice are optimal when consumed right away, since there are no preservatives). Shake or stir to mix well when ready to enjoy.
